Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

Equans

In Birmingham, Stag Communications, had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with Equans on a significant project focused on the retrofitting of houses as part of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). This initiative aims to improve the energy efficiency of social housing across the UK, with a target of reducing carbon emissions and enhancing living conditions for residents. The SHDF is a government-funded program that provides financial support for local authorities and housing associations to upgrade their properties, making them more sustainable and affordable.

Throughout the project, our production company in Birmingham captured the transformation of homes at various stages of the retrofitting process. From initial assessments to the installation of energy-efficient systems, we documented the remarkable changes that took place. The works included improvements such as enhanced insulation, modern heating solutions, and the integration of renewable energy sources, all of which contribute to lowering energy bills and reducing carbon footprints.

The impact of these retrofitting efforts was evident in the homes we filmed. Residents expressed their satisfaction with the upgrades, noting not only the increased comfort but also the positive effect on their energy costs. By showcasing these transformations, our production company in Birmingham aimed to highlight the significance of the SHDF and its role in promoting sustainable living in the community.

As we continue our work with Equans, we remain committed to telling the stories of these retrofitted homes, illustrating the tangible benefits of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund. Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and inspire further action in the realm of social housing. Through our lens, the difference made by these retrofitting projects is not just about buildings; it's about improving lives and fostering a greener future for all.
